Museum “Ethno-Kudo” in Podlesnaya Tavla village
Masters’ school – ethnographic open-air museum in Podlesnaya Tavla (25 km from Saransk). There is experimental art school of woodcutting. The Union of Tavla’s masters “Ermez’” restores ethnic traditions of Finno-Ugric peoples, makes unique wooden toys and noise musical instruments.
Carvers look beyond small statuary, they also create wooden toys and subjects of utilitarian assignment. Masters pay a lot of attention to monumental plastics which decorates children’s playgrounds, village and city streets, springs and the village suburbs.
The program includes:
- Sightseeing tour in ethnographic open air museum, which includes information about the village and its inhabitants, overview of ethnographic materials, insight into biography and art of Vladimir Romashkin, listening to music of folk band “Torama”.
